Fit for Industry 4.0: Agile training concept e.nova.lab developed by and in collaboration with the trainees of KATEK Memmingen GmbH

Auszubildende von KATEK Memmingen
Berlin/Memmingen – Self-learning skills, personal responsibility, problem-solving skills, teamwork and an interdisciplinary approach and mindset are at the forefront of the agile training concept e.nova lab from the solar and energy specialist KATEK Memmingen GmbH. The e.nova.lab teaches the skills that are needed in particular for Industry 4.0 and digitalisation.

The electronic innovation lab, or e.nova lab for short, primarily focuses on developing new ideas while complementing existing programmes such as in-house training and on-the-job training courses in various departments as well as teaching soft skills. Challenges and projects are developed in collaborative teams using the modern agile method. This allows talented trainees to be identified and their development to be nurtured. The 30 trainees show a strong level of commitment and are highly motivated.
‘Developed by and in collaboration with the trainees’ also applies to project communication. KATEK Memmingen GmbH trainees share their experiences about their work and the e.nova.lab on social media. They are reaching out to exactly the right target group – teenagers and young adults as potential future trainees – and in the right language. They will also post about their trip to Berlin. The Berlin trip is both a highlight and a reward for their commitment to the e.nova.lab, with plenty of exciting activities in store. They will take part in the award ceremony for the IHK Education Award 2020 at the Berlin Congress Center, for which KATEK Memmingen GmbH has been nominated in the special award category. A visit to the Bundestag as well as an exchange with member of the German Bundestag Stephan Stracke, who represents the constituency of Kaufbeuren, are also on the agenda for the first day in the capital. The following day, the group will visit the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development with a possible meeting with Federal Development Minister Dr. Gerd Müller. “Our trainees have played the biggest part in the success of the e.nova.lab project. The trip to Berlin is a gesture of recognition, making attendance at the award ceremony a matter of course”, commented Andreas Mayer, Training Leader.
The IHK Education Award will be presented on 10 February 2020 at the Berlin Congress Center, and the trainees from KATEK Memmingen GmbH will be there. Whether or not the company will receive the award will be decided on site. The IHK Education Award recognises exceptionally innovative corporate projects in the field of in-company training, honouring companies of all sizes that place a high priority on vocational training for their employees in order to ensure their own entrepreneurial success.
